2019 Silverstar Canada Cup #2
Hi all,
This past weekend I attended the 2nd round of the BC Cup DH series in silver star. I had never been to this race before, so I had no idea what to expect coming into it. When I did my first few practices runs down the course, I was pretty lost, to be honest. There were a lot of tight sections, and it was hard to know exactly where you were on track because most of the sections looked the same. Eventually, after a few more runs, I started to get the hang of it and was riding at a half-decent pace. When I did my seeding run, I was pretty surprised to see I was only off the top spot by nearly 3 seconds, which was the closest I've been all season. So I was extremely motivated to give it my all for the race run. But, unfortunately, that's all I thought about, and I pushed too far past my limit in my race run. This caused me to crash midway down the track. I was pretty gutted to have this happen, but I realize that it was a good learning experience for when I need to stay composed when the pressure was on.
My next race is the Canadian National champs in Panorama BC.
