2019 BC Provincial Championship
Hi all,
This past weekend I attended the BC Provincial Championships in Big White BC. This race was showing to be a difficult one, as the track here is loose, rough, and physical at best. But before we arrived, it snowed, making the track the most challenging id ever seen it. In the first few days of practice, I was struggling with the conditions, and I couldn't seem to find any lines that would stay consistent or ones I felt comfortable riding at race speed. By the time seeding came around, I had no idea what I was going to do, and I ended up having one of the loosest runs of my life. I knew I had to do something about it, so I went for my 2nd track walk of the weekend and found so many new lines I had never even thought of, I was excited to try them all for practice the next day. I made sure I got the first lift up for training in the morning. I hit all my lines flawlessly and was so excited to put down a heater race run. Sometimes when I know, I'm going to have a good run, and I have that built up confidence, I lose all feelings of nervousness or doubt. I can relax and be excited to go out there and ride my bike. That's what I did, and I ended up having one of my best runs of the year. I am stoked to be carrying some good energy into the next round.
My next race is BC Cup #3 at Sun Peaks
