2019 Whistler BC Cup #1

Hi all,

This past weekend I attended the first round of the BC Cup DH series in whistler. This race was one that I have been training for and anticipating all off-season and pre-season. I came into this race, knowing what I needed to do to be successful. That meant that I knew I needed to be as focused as possible because this course is very physical, and it demands exact precision or else it's very easy to make a costly mistake. I have not had the best of luck at this race in the past, and I came into this weekend extremely motivated to do well. I felt like I was riding well throughout practice and was doing everything necessary for a successful race run. When it came time or race run, I was overthinking the course a bit too much, and when I left the start gate, I was overthinking about what was ahead instead of what was in front of me. So, I couldn't settle into a good rhythm and ended up riding defensively and stiff. Definitely how I wanted this race to go, but I feel like I learned a lot and I am in a decent spot coming into the next round.

My next race is provincial champs in Big White BC.
