2018 Crankworx Canadian Open DH

Hi All,

This weekend I competed in the Canadian Open DH at Crankworx Whistler.

This race had me feeling a lot different than a few days prior in the Fox Air DH, because it is probably the most gnarly track I ride all year and I was coming into it with 4 weeks prior off the bike. So I was really nervous and riding like crap in the first two days of practice. But luckily I sorted myself out on the last few runs of training and started to feel confident in my riding and was nailing all my lines and the bike was feeling solid. My race run was a completely different story though. I was riding really well on the top section but just about slid off track and lost all my speed on a flat corner, and in the wide open woods section at the bottom I came in hauling and got thrown offline in the direction of a tree and had to almost come to a stop to redirect myself. But overall I feel like I learned a lot and will carry that into the next event.

My next event will be the 2nd last BC cup of the year in Big White.
